Stu Croll

Community Conductor

Having heard about abandofbrothers for several years, I decided to get involved in 2018. I was brought up in the East Midlands and got into a fair amount of trouble as a young man, which resulted in me being sent to juvenile detention. I moved to London on my 16th birthday and struggled to find stable housing. I started various small businesses and ended up getting involved in the music scene. This took me as far as India, where I had a series of mental health challenges and ultimately a breakdown. I’m now 51 and the proud father of a daughter who I co-parent. I’ve come to see that abandofbrothers was (and still is) the organisation most suited to my life experiences and one that gives me an opportunity to give something back at a grassroots level.
