We believe that troubled young men should not be written off by society, so we are incredibly grateful to the trusts and foundations whose long-term generosity has enabled us to reach more young men and local communities across the UK.
For over 10 years, abandofbrothers has provided mentoring support for criminalised young men.
Support from trusts and foundations has helped us to:
- Expand our support to community groups across the UK. Read about our support
- Build the expertise of our mentors. Read about our qualifications
- Train community volunteers in psychological resilience and leadership. Read about our personal development programmes
Unrestricted funding is invaluable because it allows us to develop our strategy and remain flexible to the changing needs of our communities.
We want to say a big thank you to our unrestricted funders including:
- Paul Hamlyn Trust
- Bernard Sunley Trust
- Garfield Weston Foundation
- School of Social Entrepreneurs
- Henry Smith
- Blagrave Trust
Helped me understand myself hugely and find the new real me. Also now feel I have a place in this world and a new family.
Better than jail and wasting money to keep someone in jail.

Impact and reporting
abandofbrothers is committed to collecting data about the work we do and using it to measure our impact.
We report openly and honestly about the funding we receive and tailor our reports to the interests and objectives of each trust or foundation.
We invite friends, trustees and representatives from trusts or foundations to visit one of our community projects, where they can hear directly from young men, families and volunteer mentors about our impact.
